Meet the founders

My name is Olaoluwa Oguneye and I am a recent graduate of Decatur High School. I played on both the DHS Varsity Basketball and Varsity Track & Field teams, and I have aspirations to help solve world issues using computer science and engineering. This fall, I will begin studying Computer Science at Stanford University while continuing my track & field career at the Division 1 level.

As the former president of both the Investing club and the National Honor Society at DHS, I have leadership experience and know what it takes to run a successful organization. Additionally, I have a love for service that is best displayed through my community service involvement with my non-profit, Beacon United, and outside organizations such as the Black Man Lab and Vox Atlanta.

I love helping the youth, and my work with Hoop Legendz has taught me valuable lessons about the value of responsibility, patience, and hard work.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Hi! I am Jake Eagle, and I'm a recent graduate of Decatur High School. During my time at DHS, I served as the president & social media manager of the Decatur Design club, was on the student equity team, and was a leader in GENTS (Gentlemen Excelling with the Necessary Tools for Success). I participated in the IB Diploma Program, and earned several Adobe certifications as a skilled graphic designer. Additionally, I've had the opportunity to occasionally perform as a pianist at Decatur Presbyterian Church. This fall, I will begin my studies in psychology at Georgia Tech.

I am passionate about helping the homeless and have been volunteering with the Atlanta Mission for the past four years. I used to tutor students at Beacon Hill Middle School, providing comprehensive academic support in an after-school program. Furthermore, I am an active member of two churches, one where I serve as a youth mentor, leading young children, fostering their social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Mentoring and developing these kids at Hoop Legendz has been amazing. Seeing them learn and grow reaffirms my belief in mentorship. It's a privilege to be part of their journey towards success and happiness. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
